Part 5
New Testament theology contains many commands from God as tests of loyalty to prove those who really belong to the body of true believers. One of those tests is the CELEBRATION of the Lord’s Supper. This CELEBRATION is to be practiced and ENJOYED in the Church. It is to be a constant DELIGHT. Listen to what Dr. Glen G. Scorgie says:
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus Christ launched a new covenant. And like all covenants, this one is one that involves reciprocating commitments and reciprocal obligations. And one of our chief commitments in this wonderful covenant is a commitment to the lordship of Jesus Christ, to obedience to his will and his ways, to surrender up our swords to his true lordship, and to live that out in authentic ways, both in the disposition of our hearts and our willingness to follow the heart of God into the world. But one of the things that’s certainly necessary to add here is that the fulfillment of our covenant obligations today are fulfillments we live out in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit alters the disposition of that obedience and upgrades it well above grinding duty so that it becomes, in the language of Scripture, this covenant becomes a covenant of reciprocating delight. The one who looks over us delights in us and we in him. And it gives you some idea of why the apostle could say that the kingdom of God is not grinding duty, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Some of the greatest saints have told us that this obligation that exists to be faithful and loyal to our Lord is one that we fulfill not reluctantly, but eagerly, and with all of our hearts because he has won us over. And we find him and his ways delightful.
Reflection: As a church, do you plan for celebration? As an individual, do you look forward for constant and regular celebration in your church? Are you eager to celebrate the Lord’s Supper? Are you looking forward to celebrating “Pastor’s Day” on August 25, 2022, at 6:00 P.M.? Are you eagerly anticipating your participation in the Celebration Event on September 3, 2022, at 9:00 A.M.?

La teología del Nuevo Testamento contiene muchos mandatos de Dios como pruebas de lealtad para demostrar quienes realmente pertenecen al cuerpo de verdaderos creyentes. Una de esas pruebas es la CELEBRACIÓN de la Cena del Señor. Esta CELEBRACIÓN debe ser practicada y DISFRUTADA en la Iglesia. Debe ser un DELEITE constante. Escuchen lo que dice el Dr. Glen G. Scorgie:
En la noche en que fue traicionado, Jesucristo lanzó un nuevo pacto. Y como todos los pactos, éste es uno que implica compromisos recíprocos y obligaciones recíprocas. Y uno de nuestros principales compromisos en esta maravillosa alianza es el compromiso con el señorío de Jesucristo, con la obediencia a su voluntad y a sus caminos, con la entrega de nuestras espadas a su verdadero señorío, y con vivirlo de forma auténtica, tanto en la disposición de nuestros corazones como en nuestra voluntad de seguir el corazón de Dios en el mundo. Pero una de las cosas que ciertamente es necesario añadir aquí es que el cumplimiento de nuestras obligaciones del pacto hoy son cumplimientos que vivimos en el poder y la presencia del Espíritu Santo. Y el Espíritu Santo altera la disposición de esa obediencia y la eleva muy por encima del deber de molienda, de modo que se convierte, en el lenguaje de la Escritura, en un pacto de deleite recíproco. El que nos cuida se deleita en nosotros y nosotros en él. Y esto te da una idea de por qué el apóstol pudo decir que el reino de Dios no es un deber de molienda, sino la justicia y la paz y la alegría en el Espíritu Santo.
Algunos de los más grandes santos nos han dicho que esta obligación que existe de ser fieles y leales a nuestro Señor es una obligación que cumplimos no de mala gana, sino con entusiasmo, y con todo nuestro corazón porque él nos ha ganado. Y nos parece que él y sus caminos son deliciosos.
Reflexión: Como iglesia, ¿planeas la celebración? Como individuo, ¿esperas una celebración constante y regular en tu iglesia? ¿Estás deseando celebrar la Cena del Señor? ¿Está esperando celebrar el "Día del Pastor" el 25 de agosto de 2022, a las 6:00 P.M.? ¿Está esperando con ansias su participación en el Evento de Celebración el 3 de septiembre de 2022, a las 9:00 A.M.?
