About Our Church
WE LOVE THE BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the true Word of God. They are inspired, infallible and without error, and they are the only rule of practice and faith.
WE ARE A CONFESSIONAL CHURCH
We adhere to the great teachings of the Protestant Reformation as our leaders subscribed to the Westminster Standards of Faith (Westminster Confession, Larger Catechism and Shorter Catechism). We believe that these confessional documents are a faithful summary of the teachings contained in the Holy Scriptures.
WE ARE PRESBYTERIANS
The word "Presbyterian" comes from the Greek word used for elder. Our Church is governed by a group of elders, who are responsible for the spiritual and pastoral care of the flock. We also have another group of ministers called deacons, who serve the physical needs of the Church.
WE DELIGHT IN KNOWING GOD THROUGH HIS GRACE
The Christian life is not only religion but a relationship with the God of the universe. Through Jesus we enjoy relationship with God as our perfect heavenly Father. We grow in an intimate knowledge of our Father as we listen to Him speaking to us through His Word and then responding to Him in prayer. He has given us symbols of our relationship with Him such as baptism and communion, which strengthen us in faith and train us to depend more on Him for all that we need. As we listen to his Word, pray, and participate in the sacraments, God reveals himself to us and perfects our love for him.
WE LOVE TO WORSHIP GOD
Alone or at home with our families or together with the rest of the Church, we love to worship God. We worship Him in the ways the Bible teaches us, in which He likes them. In adoration, we dialogue with our Lord: He speaks to us through His Word and we respond to Him in prayer, singing Psalms, Hymns and songs of praise. Especially once a week, on Sundays, we come together to worship God rejoicing in His faithfulness, His forgiveness, and in the fellowship we share with one another in Christ.
WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROCLAIMING THE GOOD NEWS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
As people who have received the gift of a living relationship with God and eternal life, we fervently want to share this gift with others. We talk about Jesus, who he is and what he has done to save sinners. We tell others how God has changed our lives to seek Him and be saved. As we share the good news, we see God saving others and bringing them into the family of our Church.
WE ARE A FAMILY
The church is not a business, a club or an organization but a family. When God forgives our sins, he makes us his beloved children. We do not have isolated Christian lives. We belong to a family. We care for each other, spend time together, share our challenges and triumphs, and meet the needs of others. Our Church would love for you to be part of our family.
