Our Church has SIX overall goals that we will be addressing over the next five years.  Click the buttons below to get a fuller picture of what each goal is.

Six Goals

GOAL 1: NURTURE OUR LOCAL CHURCHES

Nurture our local churches using the gifts of our members with a view to developing a stronger sense of spirituality and fellowship, advancing targeted church programming and encouraging meaningful sharing and reconciliation among members and leaders.

FIELD COMMISSION:  NURTURING THROUGH MUSIC MINISTRY.  To better nurture the Spanish-speaking Church with BIBLE-BASED, CHRIST-CENTERED songs, the Commission is in the process of providing digital copies of the "Solo a Dios la Gloria" hymnbook.  Contact Pastor Eliseo de la Cruz if your church, congregation or mission has not yet recieved a copy.

FIELD COMMISSION:  NURTURING THROUGH MUSIC MINISTRY.  To better nurture the ENGLISH-speaking Church with BIBLE-BASED, CHRIST-CENTERED songs, the Commission has compliled a list of hymns that correspond with the "Solo a Dios la Gloria" hymnbook. Where can our church start?

  1. Memorize ONE Scripture  Verse each week as a CHURCH and as a FAMILY.

  2. Pray as an individual, family and church for the CHURCH and the Church's SPECIFIC NEEDS

  3. Listen or read the different devotions prepared by your pastors and leaders.

  4. Find a devotional resource that you like and commit yourself and your family to the daily reading of that devotion.

GOAL 2: IDENTIFY AND DEVELOP LEADERS

Identify and develop leaders through training and skills development ensuring effective church governance while growing the leadership capacity for the future.

FINANCE COMMISSION:  DEVELOPING BOOKKEEPERS.  The Commission carried out a bookkeeping workshop for all churches, congregations and missions.  The goal is that the Presbytery and its Churches account for all incomes and expenses in a transparent manner.  Reports will be submitted on a monthly and trimesterly basis.

EDUCATION COMMISSION:  DEVELOPING SOLID, REFORMED LEADERS.  Very soon the Education Commission through the Reformed Leadership Institute of Belize (Previously called Belize Theological Seminary) will begin a one-year certificate course for Elders, Deacons, Sunday School Teachers, Youth Leaders and any other persons interested in growing spiritually.  The first course is "The Apostles Creed".

FINANCE COMMISSION:  DEVELOPING BUDGET MAKERS. The Commission has planned a budgeting workshop for all church leaders.  It is anticipated that all churches, congregations and missions will develop a working budget for the year 2022.

Where can our church start?

  1. If you have a desire to study for ministry within the Church, contact the Champion.  

  2. If you have a desire to take the one-year certificate course starting in March, then keep you eye open for further information from the Reformed Leadership Institute of Belize. 

  3. Nurture yourself by using the resources mentioned in Goal 1.

GOAL 3:  IMPROVE AND INCREASE COMMUNICATIONS

Improve and increase communications throughout the denomination - both nationally, locally and internationally.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  WHATSAPP CHAT GROUPS.  Several WhatsApp chat groups are functioning to help improve communication amongst church leaders.  The chat groups include the following: 

     1.  Executive Chat Group
     2.  Champions of Presbytery Chat Grouphat Gro
     3.  Champions Celebrations Chat Group
     4.  National Prayer Group Chat Group

 5.  Education Commission Chat Group
     6.  Field Commission Chat Group
     7.  Ministry Commission Chat Group

     9.  Service and Developement Chat Group

LOCAL CHURCHES:  Local churches are encouraged to create a variety of WhatsApp chat groups to meet the needs of their congregation.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  YOUTUBE CHANNEL.  A Presbyterian Church YouTube channel has over 70 videos available for use in churches and schools.  Currently, it has fours series of videos: God's Story, Bible Throughlines, Reformation and Prayer. 

PASTORS/LEADERS/LOCAL CHURCHES:  Church leadership is encouraged to submit short sermons, devotions, children's stories that will build up the National Church.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  NATIONAL CHURCH WEBSITE.  A Presbyterian Church website highlighting the churches' history, beliefs, projects, photo gallery and ministries has been create. 

LOCAL CHURCHES:  Each church is asked to submit content to be posted to its webpage on a regular basis.  For information concering website submissions, click the PDF button below.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  NATIONAL STRATEGIC PLAN WEBSITE.  A Presbyterian Church Strategic Plan website has been created to highlight the progress of the "Blueprint for Ministry—the Presbyterian Churches of Belize 2021-2026 Strategic Plan."  

Where can our church start?

  1. Congregate with the family of God on Sundays.

  2. Call or visit a brother or a sister who needs encouragment.

  3. Send ONE picture and a short description of an event that the church has celebrated and share with the National Church.

GOAL 4:  PROVIDE INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP

Intentional discipleship by developing ministries focused on children, young people, women, men and families and parents.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  REFORMATION STUDY MATERIALS AND POWERPOINTS   By means of study materials and PowerPoints, the national church was able to focus on the FIVE SOLAS of the REFORMATION.  Materials were provided in both English and Spanish.

EXECUTIVE OF PRESBYTERY:  ADVENT ONE-MONTH DEVOTION.   The national church was able to focus on the ADVENT of CHRIST - God with us.  Material was provided in both English and Spanish.

Where can our church start?

  1. As a church and family, memorize the scripture for the week.

  2. Pray as an individual, family and church for the CHURCH and the Church's SPECIFIC NEEDS

  3. Listen or read the different devotions prepared by your pastors and leaders.

  4. Find a devotional resource that you like and commit yourself and your family to the daily reading of that devotion.

GOAL 5:  IDENTIFY, PLAN AND PROMOTE JUSTICE AND MERCY MINISTRIES

Identify, plan and promote mercy and justice ministries as a priority for the foreseeable future.

SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION:  ASSISTING FIRE VICTIMS:  The Commission asked that the individual Presbyterian churches contribute to the physical needs of a family in Belize City that had lost their home to a fire.    

SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION:  ASSISTING STUDENTS:  Each church is gathering school supplies to hand out to needy students.

SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION:  VISITING THE SICK:  The Commission has asked that each church set up a regular weekly program for visiting the sick.

Where can our church start?

  1. Be willing to take care of the physical and financial needs of the widow, orphans and sick in your church community.

  2. Identify ONE justice and mercy ministry that your church could support.

GOAL 6:  DEVELOP FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP AND CHURCH INFRASTRUCTURE

Develop financial stewardship and church infrastructure across the denomination with a view of increasing accountability, planning and sustainability.

FINANCE COMMISSION:  INCREASING FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP.  It is anticipated that all churches will carry out a transparent accountability of all income and expenses.  Reports will be submitted on a monthly and trimesterly basis.

Where can our church start?

  1. Faithfully and joyfully, set aside your tithe even in difficult times.

  2. Faithfully and joyfully, set aside your offering.  Ensure that each of your family members gives - even your children.  Help them learn to give to God.

  3. Faithfully and joyfully, volunteer to clean the church or chop the church yard.
